The Ghost of Silent Mary.

The story begins inside this ship, in a night that seemed perfectly ordinary in the dark sea.

All guests were dancing beneath a grand chandelier, its crystals trembled decorations above them. By the window, a woman dressed in black, and she was watching the sea alone. At the same time below the deck, a young bride waited quietly in her cabin.
They had no idea, above them all, the helmsman held the wheel and guided the ship farther into the dark.
No one noticed how quiet the water had become.
The wind still filled the sails, but the waves around the ship had gone completely still. Then, shortly before dawn, a red light rose lighting up on the horizon.
Some later claimed that the Silent Mary had caught fire. Others insisted the glow had come from beneath the sea.
By sunrise, the ship was gone.
No distress signal had been heard. No bodies were recovered. Only a few fragments reached the shore: scorched lace, black crystals, silver cords and pieces of gauze that moved even when the air was still.
For years, people remembered the mystery of the vanished ship—but almost no one remembered the people she had carried.
Then salt began appearing inside the archive where the recovered objects were stored. At night, the guards heard timber creaking behind the locked door, followed by the faint sound of crystals swaying from an unseen chandelier.
One morning, they found the Silent Mary’s ruined passenger list lying open. Four identities had appeared on a page that had always been blank:
The Countess.
The Helmsman.

The Dancer.

The Bride.

Beneath them, written in water-darkened ink, was a single sentence:
THEY ONCE HAD NAMES.
That was when the four figures began to return.
