This skirt does not resemble a preserved ceremonial garment. Its layers hang at different lengths, separating and overlapping as the wearer moves. Grey, black and faded purple tulle drift around the body like smoke, torn sails and fabric suspended beneath the sea.

Story:

A dramatically asymmetrical tulle skirt designed for The Helmsman of the Silent Mary, the pirate captain of the Last Gift of the Dead collection.

Thirteen layers of tulle in different shades are arranged through irregular diagonal cutting. The uneven lengths create a light yet unstable sense of movement: each layer sways, separates and overlaps at a different speed as the wearer walks.

Instead of polished hems, the tulle retains deliberately unfinished raw edges. This creates the skirt’s chaotic, damaged character—a form of broken romance that feels closer to torn sails and floating wreckage than to a traditional refined gown.

Styling Suggestions

Pair it with the Silent Mary rib corset, pirate captain hat, long black gloves and layered Gothic jewellery to complete the Helmsman character.
